Families play the most important role in their children’s health as primary caregivers. They provide staff with important information about their child’s health and their concerns. Program staff support families by providing them with health-focused resources, offering tokens or transportation to medical or dental visits, as needed, and paying for dental examinations and treatment for children not covered by insurance.
Families are encouraged to participate in health-related classes to
ensure that their children have follow-up care, to help them understand the importance of keeping their children at home if they have a contagious illness.
